Who is Be Nice?

We dreamed of creating a design stationery brand that brings together beautiful design, ecology, and a love for quality paper. We wanted to introduce to the Czech Republic a stylish and eco-friendly range of paper goods that would bring you joy.

So, we combined our strengths — expertise in printing, ecology, and design — and founded Be Nice, a brand of eco-friendly design stationery. Mirka has 30 years of experience in printing, so she knows how to choose the best papers and printing technologies. Terka studied ecology, so she ensures that our products aren’t just eco-friendly in name, but truly are.

At Be Nice, you’ll find everything a paper lover could wish for — from creative supplies and home decorations to gifts and everyday paper helpers. Be Nice products are a source of inspiration and daily joy you can always rely on.

Our products are designed and made in the Czech Republic, in our small family-run print shop, using high-quality ecological materials that we personally select and test. The original illustrations on our products are created by leading Czech artists — so the designs you find on your Be Nice products are unique to us.

The story of Be Nice started long before the brand officially existed.

Mirka – the heart and mind behind Be Nice, with deep knowledge of printing and paper.

I worked in marketing for many years, and I really enjoyed and found fulfillment in it. I have a strong creative streak, so I loved channeling that into marketing campaigns—dozens of them, many quite successful. When I had young children, though, I wanted more time for myself, which led me to work at the printing company my husband had founded years ago. As I gained more experience, I began looking for something more meaningful alongside regular jobs—and I found it in the desire to create products made from recycled paper, combining my creativity, love for nature, and knowledge of printing. That was just a small step away from bringing the Be Nice brand to life.

Terka — has ecology and marketing down to a fine art

I grew up in a family involved in the printing industry — I remember my dad taking me to see the machines and showing me how printing works. That love for printing, paper, and hands-on work really sticks with you, so it’s been a joy for me to be part of Be Nice. I studied Ecology because I care deeply about how our actions affect the planet. With Be Nice, we have the chance to change how people see recycled paper and offer a design-forward yet eco-friendly alternative to everyday products.

Be Nice is a passion project for me — combining respect for nature, Czech traditions, and beautiful design. I’m proud to be a part of it.

Bára - ilustrator 

Paper goods and my connection to them have been with me since childhood. At first, I noticed the scent of paper, then the prints and the weight of the sheets.

When I started pursuing my dreams through illustrating books, and our first book Home Like a Plate was printed at Garamond printing house, I met Mirka. Since then, I’ve been imagining all the wonderful things I could have printed with them.

A few months later, Mirka invited me to collaborate, and by illustrating designs on paper, I began fulfilling another dream.

At Be Nice, I’m responsible for sales and communication with our business partners. I visit shops where our products are sold, and my job is to ensure that our products are available in all the right places. :)
