Our names are Mirka and Terka Poráčovy, and we had a dream to create a design stationery brand that combines beautiful design, ecology, and a love for quality paper. We wanted to bring a stylish and eco-friendly alternative of paper products to the Czech Republic that would also bring you joy.
So we combined our strengths — expertise in printing, ecology, and design — and founded Be Nice, a brand of eco-friendly design stationery.
In the Be Nice collection, you will find everything a paper lover could wish for: from wrapping papers and home decorations to gifts and everyday paper helpers. Be Nice products are a source of inspiration and daily joy you can always rely on.
Be Nice products are designed and made in the Czech Republic in our small family print shop using high-quality ecological materials, which we personally select and test. The original illustrations on our products are created by leading Czech artists — so you won’t find these designs anywhere else but with us.
The story of Be Nice began long before the brand was officially born.

Mirka – The heart and mind behind Be Nice
I spent many years working in marketing. I loved and enjoyed it very much. I have a strong creative sense, and I enjoyed translating it into marketing campaigns — dozens of them, quite successful too. But when I had small children, I wanted more time for myself, which led me to work in the print shop my husband founded many years ago.
With growing experience, I started to look for something more beyond the usual orders — this led me to a desire to create products from recycled paper, combining everything I love — creativity, love for nature, and printing knowledge. From there, it was just a small step to bring Be Nice to life.
Terka – Marketing expert
I grew up in a family connected to printing — I remember my dad taking me to the machines and showing me how everything is printed. That love for printing, paper, and craftsmanship really sticks with you, so it has been a joy to be part of Be Nice.
I studied Ecology because I care about the impact of our society’s actions on the planet. With Be Nice, we have a chance to change the perception of recycled paper and offer people a stylish, yet eco-friendly alternative to common products.
Be Nice is close to my heart, fulfilling both respect for nature and Czech traditions as well as beautiful design. I’m happy to be part of it.

Bára – our illustrator
Paper goods and my connection to them have been with me since childhood. First, I noticed the smell of paper, then the prints and weight of paper.
When I started fulfilling my dreams through book illustrations, the first book, Home Like a Plate, was printed at Garamond print shop, where I met Mirka. Since then, I imagined all the things I could have printed there.
A few months later, Mirka invited me to collaborate on this lovely project, and illustrating the motifs for the papers has become another dream come true.
