Our names are Mirka and Terka Poráčovy, and we had a dream to create a design stationery brand that combines beautiful design, ecology, and a love for quality paper. We wanted to bring a stylish and eco-friendly alternative of paper products to the Czech Republic—items that would also bring you joy. So, we combined our strengths—expertise in printing, ecology, and design—and founded Be Nice, a brand of eco-friendly design stationery.

At Be Nice, you’ll find everything a paper lover could wish for—from wrapping papers and home decorations to gifts and everyday paper essentials. Be Nice products are a source of inspiration and daily joy you can always rely on.

Our products are designed and made in the Czech Republic, in our small family printing house, using high-quality eco materials that we personally select and test. The original illustrations on our products are created by leading Czech artists—so the motifs on your Be Nice item are truly unique and can’t be found anywhere else.

Mirka - the mind and heart of Be Nice

For years, I worked in marketing. I really enjoyed it and found it fulfilling. I have a strong creative sense, so I loved channeling that into marketing campaigns—dozens of them, many quite successful. But when I had small children, I wanted more time for myself, which led me to work at a printing house my husband had founded many years ago.

With growing experience, alongside handling orders, I started looking for something more—and that brought me to the desire to create products from recycled paper, combining everything I have inside—creativity, love for nature, and knowledge of printing.

That was just a small step away from bringing the Be Nice brand to life.

Terka - she’s got marketing down to a science

Since childhood, I grew up in a printing family—I remember my dad taking me to the machines and showing me how printing works. That love for printing—the paper, the process, and the hands-on work—really gets ingrained in you, so being part of Be Nice has been a joy for me. I studied Ecology because I care deeply about our society’s impact on the planet. With Be Nice, we have a chance to change how people perceive recycled paper and offer a design-forward yet eco-friendly alternative to everyday products.

Be Nice is close to my heart—it combines care for nature, respect for Czech traditions, and beautiful design—and I’m proud to be part of it.

Bára - ilustrátorka Be Nice

Paper goods and my connection to them have accompanied me since childhood. At first, I noticed the scent of paper, then the prints and the paper’s weight.

When I started fulfilling my dreams through book illustrations and the first book Home Like a Plate was printed—created together with the author at Garamond printing house—I met Mirka. Since then, I began imagining all the things I could have printed with them.

A few months later, Mirka invited me to this lovely collaboration, and by illustrating designs for their paper products, I started fulfilling another dream.
